BUSH

BUSH´S DETAINEE BILL

Things are getting worse and worse here, there and everywhere…

In the US, Congress is on track to approve this day the Bush plan (Detainee Bill) for freely detaining and interrogating terrorist suspects: “a bill to serve the mindless politics of a midterm election” has stated the NYT on its editorial this morning.

While Republicans say Congress must act right now to create procedures for charging and trying terrorists, on the other hand, Democrats state that restricting detainees rights is just going to make them less safe, specially with their own military members captured abroad.

Just three days ago, a declassified US intelligence examination of the effects of the Iraq war (NIE entitled “Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States) revealed a breaking piece of news: that these guys mess in Iraq has made the threat of terror worse: what did they really expect?
